Role of the CME Committee
Our appointed committee joins our Graduate Medical Education team to provide oversight for our CME Program.
Responsibilities of the CME Committee include:
- Identify and assess the educational needs of the members of the Medical Staff and other health professionals in surrounding communities
- Facilitate professional development in the wide range of competencies needed to practice quality medicine in the multidisciplinary context of patient care
- Ensure the continuing medical education program's compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education's (ACCME) Essential Areas and their Elements and the Ohio State Medical Association's (OSMA) accreditation requirements.
- Monitor the CME activity planning and implementation processes, ensuring activities comply with all ACCME and OSMA guidelines
- Assess the effectiveness of CME activities to satisfy the needs of the Medical Staff and improve actual performance and patient outcomes
- Develop strategies to improve the hospital's overall CME program
