Wojciech Mazur, MD, is a cardiac imaging and clinical cardiology specialist with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Heart & Vascular. He also serves as Medical Director of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic as well as Advanced Cardiac Imaging at The Christ Hospital Health Network.
Dr. Mazur has more than 20 years of specialized experience in cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac magnetic resonance, cardiac computed tomography.
Dr. Mazur earned his medical degree in Poland before he came to the United States where he completed a residency and fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He has published more than 200 research articles, books, abstracts, and book chapters in the field of cardiology.
Dr. Mazur sees his patients as people, not as a disease or a problem, nor as a task. His focus is not only on how to make the patient well, but also on treating his patient with dignity and respect, while learning their stories and understanding how they tie into their health.
For him, the most important aspect of being a physician is to make a lasting difference in his patients’ lives. He strongly believes that the patient is in control of his or her destiny and that changing the way one lives can have a huge impact on one's health.
He strongly believes that stress is the one of the main causes of heart disease and focuses on stress management techniques. His common over the counter prescriptions include Mediterranean diet, laughter, meditation and getting a dog!
Dr. Mazur is married with two sons. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, listening to NPR and spending time with family. He truly believes in social justice and health equity. Dr. Mazur also believes that access to healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

Dr.Mazur is terrific, he is genuine. He is actively listening, not just pushing thru the words he has to say then standing with his hand on door knob. I trust him 100%. 5yrs ago he saw my [...] yr old mother, just to clear her for knee replacement. She liked him immediately (rare). HE re-listened to her heart 3x, she ended up having a TAVR, he caught it. Mom [...] lived 3 more yrs, she was in Christ emergency & ICU several times, for weeks. Our family can't say enough good about Christ Hospital staff. Professional, compassionate it just came thru at every interaction. That TAVR had a lot to do, we think, with giving us 3 more years with Mom.
