Preparing for baby
Online registration is now available for a variety of childbirth classes. (Please note by clicking this link, you’re leaving The Christ Hospital Health Network website and will be registering through Eventbrite.com).
Learn more about how to prepare for baby by downloading valuable resource guides for childbirth, newborn care, breastfeeding, and infant safety.
In order to make sure that your newborn is sufficiently covered by insurance prior to your delivery, we ask that all expectant mothers delivering at The Christ Hospital fill out the Mother/Infant registration form prior to delivery. Please download, complete and return this form to your obstetrician's office.
When the big day arrives, your birthing center care team will be ready, partnering with you to make this special experience everything your family expects. All care for the baby, from baths to exams, will be done in-room as you and your family learn about, and bond with, your new addition. Some women may also choose to bring a doula with them—also known as a birth companion or post-birth supporter.
If an unexpected complication occurs, high-risk obstetricians are on call 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Our Level II Special Care Nursery provides newborns specialized care and attention so they get the best start possible. Newborns as early as 32 weeks or with moderate medical problems receive individualized care from our experienced staff. We know it's hard if your newborn must stay in the hospital past your discharge - that's why we offer guest rooms for immediate family at no charge.
Once the dust settles, you may wonder where to get information on a birth certificate. The birth certificate is obtained from the Ohio Department of Health Vital Records, and you can order one for your baby through their website, or by calling 513-352-3120.
Let us help you prepare to greet the newest member of your family. Talk to your doctor and plan a visit soon.
