The Christ Hospital Health Network Named a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital in the Country

The Christ Hospital Ranked Fourth in the Nation

CINCINNATI (February 3, 2026) – The Christ Hospital Health Network has been named as one of the country’s Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals® according to an independent analysis by Premier, Inc. and published by Modern Healthcare. The award comes timely since February is designated as Heart Month by the American Heart Association.

The Christ Hospital ranked fourth in the country for a teaching hospital with a cardiovascular residency program and is the highest ranked Ohio hospital. Hospitals are ranked within three separate peer groups: teaching hospitals with cardiovascular residency programs (20 top performing facilities), teaching hospitals without cardiovascular residency programs (20 top performing facilities) and community hospitals (10 top performing facilities).

Hospitals that made this list had significantly higher inpatient survival, fewer patients with complications, lower readmission rates for certain procedures and were more cost-effective in how they delivered that care. The Christ Hospital Health Network received high performance marks in the domains of heart failure, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

“Awards like this are the result of the dedicated physicians, clinicians and support team members who work together and set the standard for what world-class heart care should look like across the region, and in many cases, across the country,” said Debbie Hayes, President & CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “Cardiovascular patients know that our heart team continues to do everything it takes to enable them to have stellar outcomes, exceptional experiences all the while creating value for them and their families as we work to improve the health of this community.”

According to the study, if all U.S. hospitals’ cardiovascular service lines performed at the level of this year’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals, the impact could include over 14,000 additional lives potentially saved, more than 27,000 additional bypass and angioplasty patients experiencing fewer complications, and over $2 billion in potential savings.

“The Christ Hospital Heart & Vascular Institute continues to be the gold standard for cardiac care in the region,” said Dean Kereiakes, MD, FACC, MSCAI Chairman of The Heart & Vascular Institute at The Christ Hospital Health Network. “Cincinnati’s heart hospital continues to grow a reputation beyond the Tri-State. We continue to lead the way through technology, innovation, clinical trials and leading- edge cardiac care that has made us a destination for heart and vascular patients.”

Compared to peer hospitals, those in the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals delivered better results across 21 measures, including clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, extended outcomes and patient experience. The complete methodology can be viewed here.
