Grateful Giving Bill and Ellen Camm

Leaving a Lasting Legacy

Two board members share their stories of gratitude and giving

When Judy Dalambakis’ father received cutting-edge stent treatment from Dr. Dean Kereiakes at The Christ Hospital, it gave him an additional 22 years of life that no other medical team thought possible. The exceptional care he received – available even on Christmas morning – far surpassed what he had received elsewhere. This transformative experience changed everything for Judy. Today, she herself is a grateful patient, which inspired her to volunteer as a member of The Christ Hospital Foundation board. Her planned gift will support research, technology, and the exceptional care provided by the Heart & Vascular Institute – ensuring future patients receive the same life-changing treatment her father did.

Dr. Bill Camm’s connection to The Christ Hospital Health Network began long before his distinguished medical career. As a teenager, he worked as a surgical assistant – an experience that launched decades of services, including time as chief resident and director of the outpatient clinic. Throughout his career, Dr. Camm attributes his success to the remarkable nurses who worked alongside him. Together with his wife Ellen, he established the “Dr. William and Ellen Camm Endowed Scholarship Fund” last year in honor of one exceptional nurse he worked with, Joyce Farrel, who later became president of the College. The fund expands access to nursing education for those who may not otherwise be able to afford it. Now, their planned gift will ensure this vital support for The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences continues to grow for generations to come.

Grateful Giving Judy DalambakisPlanned gifts like Judy and her husband Chris’ and the Camms’ are more than generous gestures – they are powerful expressions of gratitude and vision. They create a lasting legacy that links personal experience with future impact, helping to advance exceptional care, education, and innovation at The Christ Hospital Health Network.

A planned gift is a meaningful way to support the Network’s future through arrangements made today – often through a will, trust, or beneficiary designation – that take effect later. These gifts allow donors to make a lasting difference even after they’re gone.

By including The Christ Hospital Foundation in your estate plans, you ensure that the care and compassion that mattered to you continue to change lives for years to come.
