Estimated Patient Pricing and Cost

The Christ Hospital Health Network provides a number of resources to make it easier to estimate the amount you may owe for your medical care.

  • Estimates may vary from final billed charges for many reasons and do not guarantee coverage by any particular insurer or medical plan.

  • Patients who do not have insurance or who choose to pay without using their insurance have the right under the law to receive a Good Faith Estimate of how much non-emergency care will cost before receiving care.

  • Patients who qualify for need-based financial assistance may be eligible for cost discounts.

  • Services from providers not employed by The Christ Hospital Health Network may be billed separately and are not included in any estimate provided. These may include anesthesia, pathology, newborn pediatric care and interpreting imaging services, if applicable.

In addition to our online resources and price lists, you can request a price from our financial counselors by email or phone:

Online Price Estimator Tool

Our Online Price Estimator Tool provides individualized estimates for 300 services such as imaging, laboratory tests and certain medical and surgical services.

For the most accurate estimate, have the following information ready:

  • Service description and/or

  • CPT code (numerical code used to identify medical services and procedures)

  • Health insurance information

You can access the Price Estimator Tool in your patient portal – either through The Christ Hospital Mobile App or MyChart for Desktop.

  • In the Mobile App, select Paying for Care then Get a Cost Estimate.

  • In MyChart, select "Menu" then Estimates under the Billing section.

If you have not yet created your patient portal, you can access the Price Estimator Tool as a guest.

Shoppable Services List

Our Shoppable Services List specifies the discounted cash price (for a patient who pays with cash or a cash equivalent), as well as the minimum and maximum charge that The Christ Hospital Health Network has negotiated with third-party payors for the 300 services included in the Online Price Estimator Tool.

The prices listed in our Shoppable Service List were in effect as of December 20, 2023.

Machine-Readable Items and Services List

Our Items and Services List is a machine-readable list of all hospital services and our negotiated rates with third-party payors for each service. This file lists the hospital standard (gross) charge, discounted cash price (for patients who pay with cash or a cash equivalent), and the minimum and maximum charge that The Christ Hospital Health Network has negotiated with third-party payors. Additionally, this file contains payor-specific negotiated charge amounts as required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The charges listed may not reflect your individual costs depending on your insurance coverage or any discounts that may apply.

It is important to note that contracts negotiated between hospitals and payors use many different, and frequently unique, reimbursement methodologies. Hospital reimbursements for clinical services, i.e., charges, may be conditionally paid based on other services provided, or bundled into the payment for other services. Reimbursements also may vary due to other negotiated, complex criteria specific to particular payor contracts. Consequently, using the Items and Services List to compare contracted payment rates for specific line items across payors may or may not accurately reflect total contracted reimbursement rates.

The prices listed in our Items and Services List were in effect as of December 20, 2023.
