Greater Cincinnati's Women’s Surgery Center

When you're considering your treatment options, having surgery is usually not your first choice. But when medicine, lifestyle changes and other non-invasive treatments don't relieve your gynecological symptoms, your doctor may recommend surgery.

Women all over the Greater Cincinnati region choose to have their surgery at The Christ Hospital Health Network Women's Surgery Center, which is dedicated exclusively to women. Using advanced treatments and the latest technology, we provide a comfortable surgical experience performed by world-class surgeons resulting in excellent outcomes.

Our state-of-the-art facility—the only one of its kind in the region—specializes in minimally invasive surgery for gynecologic, urologic and urogynecologic (pelvic floor) surgeries. Post-surgical care is also exceptional, with treatments developed specifically for women requiring a hospital stay after a procedure.

Your surgical experience

For same-day surgery, you'll check in to one of 14 private rooms to prepare for your procedure. Each room is equipped with a television and storage locker.

Your surgery will be performed in one of six spacious surgical suites. Each suite is equipped with Stryker 1288 Second Generation High Definition cameras—a first in the Greater Cincinnati region. Large monitors give your surgeon an incredibly clear view when performing laparoscopic procedures. The camera technology also connects directly to our pathology department, enabling remote, real-time consultations, speeding up your doctor's decision-making process.

Each suite also allows for compatibility with the daVinci Surgical System for robotic-assisted surgery. This option, in some cases, gives surgeons better precision, increased range of motion and improved patient access compared to surgery by hand alone.

After surgery, women recover in the post-anesthesia care, an 11-bed space with a nutrition area.

Minimally invasive surgery (MIV)

Minimally invasive surgery is a surgical procedure through small incisions or a natural body opening.

MIV can be used for minor surgeries, including D&C, hysteroscopy, sterilization, endometrial ablations and laparoscopy. This method can also be used for advanced surgeries, including an abdominal myomectomy, infertility, hysterectomy, advanced endometrial treatment, gynecologic oncology, incontinence and pelvic floor reconstruction.

The Women's Surgery Center is the area's leader in minimally invasive surgery. The benefits to you are:

  • A faster recovery time

  • Decreased risk of infection

  • Less blood loss, pain and scarring

  • Less time under anesthesia and in the operating room

  • Quicker return to normal activities

  • Shorter hospital stay
