How financial counseling works

Whenever possible, financial counselors assist you before you receive care. For non-urgent or elective services, we try to work with you early in the registration/admissions process. This allows us time to get to know your situation, understand your healthcare coverage and figure out how best to help you.

Emergency medical situations are different. The Christ Hospital Health Network complies with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA). This means that during emergencies, you are guaranteed stabilizing care regardless of your ability to pay.

Financial assistance

The Christ Hospital offers financial assistance to patients who cannot afford medical care.

Our team can help you apply for Medicaid, Social Security Disability and The Christ Hospital Charity Program, as well as set up payment plans. Whether you have insurance or are self-pay, we’ll work to make the process as easy as possible.
