CINCINNATI (March 25, 2021) – The Christ Hospital Health Network is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of the Orthopedics & Sports Medicine After Hours Clinic, specifically designed to accommodate orthopedic injuries that happen outside the typical 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. schedule. The After Hours Clinic is staffed by specialists who can provide a diagnosis and treatment plan and give patients an alternative to the emergency room.

The Orthopedics & Sports Medicine After Hours Clinic, opening Monday, April 5, is open from 5 – 9 p.m. No appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are welcome. The clinic is located at the Joint and Spine Center at The Christ Hospital main campus, 2139 Auburn Ave. in Cincinnati.

“Our after-hours clinic is a terrific resource for the community,” said John Roberts, MD, Executive Medical Director of Musculoskeletal Services at The Christ Hospital Health Network. “Our specialists are able to answer any and all questions, directly and thoroughly, to put our patients at ease with any type of concern. I believe it provides another level of care and comfort to assist our patients.”

Skilled Nurse Practitioners will be on staff at the clinic and are able to perform care and provide treatment options (non-surgical and surgical), as well as set up any necessary follow-up appointments. The clinic is able to treat sprains, strains, bumps and bruises, acute injuries, sports injuries, work injuries and other orthopedic injuries. All imaging is done on-site at the clinic.

“The After Hours Clinic provides a unique opportunity for patients with non-emergent, acute musculoskeletal injuries to have access to high-quality orthopedic care without an appointment,” says Brian Colley, Executive Director of the Musculoskeletal Service Line at The Christ Hospital Health Network. “Orthopaedic injuries don’t always happen from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. With our location at The Christ Hospital Joint and Spine Center, it provides a convenient, central location for patients to access orthopedic care outside of normal hours of operation and allows people to avoid the emergency department.”
