CINCINNATI (April 15, 2026) – The Christ Hospital Health Network has been named one of the top teaching hospitals in the country, ranking third, according to Premier, Inc and Modern Healthcare.
Teaching hospitals demonstrated the largest difference in reductions in complications, outperforming peer hospitals by 30 percent. Based on comparisons between the study’s top performers and peer hospitals, the analysis found that this year’s 100 Top Hospitals® delivered better outcomes while operating more efficiently. If all hospitals performed at the level of this year’s top performers, the impact for Medicare inpatients could include:
•More than 279,000 additional lives saved
•More than 477,000 additional patients’ complication-free
•More than $14.3 billion in inpatient cost savings
•More than 21,700 fewer patients readmitted within 30 days
"Being named one of the top teaching hospitals in the United States is powered by the incredible physician colleagues and the supporting staff around them who care for patients following the highest standards of care; all while preparing the next generation of healthcare providers by committing to excellence in patient care and groundbreaking research,” said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “While we continue to realize our mission of improving the health of the community, we also understand our responsibilities to train the next generation to carry on that legacy of excellence so that the finest healthcare can be delivered locally for our communities but also serve as a beacon of excellence nationally.”
In addition, The Christ Hospital Health Network was honored with The Everest Award that signifies both the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement in the 5 years of trend data analyzed.
