Heather Boyd, MD, is a is a board-certified physician with The Christ Hospital Physicians who specializes in Obstetrics & Gynecology. She sees patients at the Mt. Auburn, Mason, and Montgomery locations of Mt. Auburn Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates.
Dr. Boyd developed an interest in a career in medicine at a very early age and decided on OB/GYN as a specialty after realizing a passion for providing women’s care during her rotation in that area.
She approaches care with a commitment to shared decision making with her patients after ensuring both sides have all the available facts. “I like to talk about all the possible options and their pros and cons, then send you home with the information in print so you can think while not under pressure,” she says. “That relationship is very important, and I feel very protective of my patients.”
Dr. Boyd encourages her patients to be sure they are confident that they are completely informed before making decisions about their care. “Ask questions,” she urges. “Sometimes it helps to come prepared with a list of questions because it may be hard to remember everything in that moment.”
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from DePauw University and her Medical Degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. She completed her residency in obstetrics & gynecology at the University of Cincinnati. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and she is a member of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
In her free time, Dr. Boyd enjoys staying active and working out, especially through a group dance class called DanceFix. She loves spending time with her daughter, her two giant dogs, and her cat. She also enjoys travelling and says she prefers mountains over beaches.
