Dr. Higgins earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC and her medical degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. She completed her residency at Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI in Combined Internal Medicine – Pediatrics.
She has served as the Medical Director, Vice President of Medical Affairs and Staff Physician for Doctors’ Urgent Care Offices, Milford, Ohio. Dr. Higgins’ background includes serving on the United States Naval Reserve as an Engineering Duty Officer.
Dr. Higgins has received many honors and awards in all fields and has been actively involved in medical volunteering outside the United States. A board-certified internist and pediatrician, she is also member of The American Academy of Pediatrics, The American College of Physicians, and The American Association of Medical Review Officers.
Dr. Higgins enjoys the opportunities Combined Internal Medicine - Pediatrics provides to work with patients and their families to help prevent disease and to help them optimally manage their current conditions. She strives to develop a practice that is welcoming to all and supportive of healthcare equality. She would like to especially welcome those patients that are hesitant to be seen due to past bad experiences with the health care system. Dr. Higgins is currently seeing adolescents and adults.
When outside of the office, Dr. Higgins enjoys riding her horse, playing with her dogs, gardening, baking, and spending time with her family.
