The Christ Hospital Heart & Vascular Team is pleased to announce the addition of Kari Gorder, MD, Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Cardiology, who joins The Christ Hospital Health Network and will provide coverage critical care coverage in the CVICU.
Dr. Gorder grew up in Portland, Oregon and completed her undergraduate studies at The Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science. She earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Gorder relocated to Ohio to begin her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. She continued her education at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she completed a fellowship in Critical Care.
Dr. Gorder is board-certified in emergency medicine and critical care. She has served as assistant medical director for local fire departments and as a resident physician member of the Cincinnati Police SWAT Team. She also has held positions in several local and national committees in areas of quality improvement, faculty development, resident education, and helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) safety.
When not at the hospital, she enjoys traveling, running, music, and exploring the local dog parks with her rescue mutt, Ellie.
