Paige Short, CNM, is a Board-Certified Nurse Midwife with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Obstetrics & Gynecology who provides inpatient and outpatient care to women of all ages, including labor & delivery care at the Liberty Township Birthing Center.
She was inspired to pursue a career as a nurse midwife by the opportunity to empower women to take control of their own care and their own bodies. Her approach to care is centered in shared decision making with her patients.
“I want to create a collaborative space with women to create a plan of care that best fits them and their needs,” Paige says. “My job is to educate and provide current evidence-based research and recommendations to empower them to confidently make their own choices.”
She encourages her patients to be their own advocates and to be willing to speak up to ensure they have a full understanding of their care options. “Ask the question,” she says. “There truly is no such thing as a dumb or silly question. Knowledge is power and can provide a blanket of security.”
Paige earned an Associate of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing – Midwifery from the University of Cincinnati. She is certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives.
In her free time, Paige values time spent with her family, especially spending weekends at the lake during the summer. “My husband and three kids are my world,” she says. She also enjoys playing sand volleyball, baking, coloring for stress relief, and crocheting, which she taught herself watching YouTube videos so she could make hats for the babies at work.
