Dr. Swank earned his medical degree from Northwestern University where he also completed his residency. He completed his specialty training at The Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute in Alexandria, VA and his special interests include: minimally-invasive hip and knee replacement, computer and robotic-assisted surgery, partial knee replacement (uniknee replacement), custom knee implant surgery and outpatient hip and knee surgery.
Dr. Swank is board certified in orthopaedics and is a pioneer in minimally-invasive computer and robotic assisted hip and knee surgery. He serves as the Medical Director of Research for Joint Preservation, Restoration and Reconstruction at The Christ Hospital, and is President and Medical Director of the Cincinnati Orthopaedic Research Institute.
Dr. Swank is a member of the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Cincinnati Orthopaedics Society, Ohio State Medical Association and the Ohio Orthopaedic Society. He has been honored as a Health Care Hero for Innovation by the Cincinnati Business Courier and as a Healthcare Award Winner by Venue magazine.
