About Timothy E. Kremchek, MD

Dr. Kremchek earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, completed his orthopaedic residency at Tufts University and also completed a one year orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at the Alabama Sports Medicine Institute in under the direction of Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Lawrence Lemak.

A native of Cincinnati, Dr. Kremchek returned here and began private practice in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine in 1993 and has become a leader in the orthopaedic care of athletes from across the country. He is currently in his 19th season as the Cincinnati Reds Medical Director and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, as well as all the team's minor league affiliates.

Dr. Kremchek's professional interests range from advanced arthroscopic repair of the shoulder and knee injuries to total joint reconstructions and joint replacements. He has taken an active role in teaching orthopaedics and sports medicine, which has enabled him to be published in professional journals regarding orthopaedics and sports medicine.

Dr. Kremchek has directed the Beacon Research & Education Foundation's Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program since 2012. He is also the Director of the Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine/The Christ Hospital Health Network Sports Medicine Outreach Program, a program developed to provide comprehensive and quality care for student athletes and communities.



Dr. Kremchek has been featured on HBO's Real Sports program regarding youth baseball injuries. He has been featured in ESPN Magazine, Sports Illustrated and USA Today regarding other medical health topics. Dr. Kremchek is also the team orthopaedist for Cincinnati's Archbishop Moeller High School and Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH.
