Mary Kate Haverbusch, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians – General Surgery who provides inpatient care for surgical patients at The Christ Hospital in Mt. Auburn.
She decided to pursue a career in nursing after a career experience event at a hospital when she was in high school. “It was inspiring to see firsthand how the nurses cared for their patients' needs 24 hours a day,” Mary Kate says. “My experiences as a bedside nurse and observing how the nurse practitioners at The Christ Hospital manage inpatient care encouraged me to advance my career to become an acute care nurse practitioner.”
Mary Kate approaches care for each of her patients as if they were a close friend or relative. She combines compassionate and evidence-based care with a commitment to education and open communication. “My goal is to provide patients with the information and guidance they need to make the best decisions about their health,” she says.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Mary’s College, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on Adult Gerontology Acute Care from the University of Cincinnati. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
