More about The Christ Hospital Pharmacy Department
The Christ Hospital Pharmacy Department provides an array of contemporary distributive and clinical services to patients of The Christ Hospital. Patients at the Christ Hospital include adult and geriatric medicine with specialties in women’s health, cardiovascular, and orthopedic medicine. Comprehensive pharmacy services are provided through a 24-hour central pharmacy. Three decentralized pharmacies are located in the OR, heart tower, and oncology clinic. In addition, formal clinical services include critical care, internal medicine, emergency medicine, ambulatory medicine, cardiology, infectious diseases, and drug information. State of the art computer systems as well as robotics assure the safe, accurate, rational, and cost effective use of medications. Additional services offered by the pharmacy include:
Sterile and non-sterile compounding
Computerized intravenous admixture and unit dose dispensing
Advanced technology support, including wireless PCs, automated dispensing devices (robot and Pyxis) and clinical decision support tools
Investigational drug studies

The Christ Hospital utilizes a computer-based physician order entry program (EPIC) that integrates data from pharmacy, admissions, laboratory, radiology, nursing, medicine and microbiology.
