General Medical Oncology, Breast Cancer
Dr. Chung immigrated from Korea at the age of 5 and was raised in New England. She graduated from MIT with a major in Biology and minor in Literature. She then attended Stanford University for medical school then returned to Connecticut for her Internal Medicine residency, chief residency, and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Yale University. Following this, she has been faculty at Yale since 2001.
During her tenure at Yale, in addition to her role overseeing the care of patients with cancer and teaching students/residents/fellows, she was also active in clinical and translational research serving as principal investigator or sub-investigator in dozens of trials, successfully obtaining internal and external funding to help further oncologic care, and publishing in numerous peer-reviewed journals. She also served in multiple Breast Cancer Disease Unit committees including running tumor boards and the clinical practice program.
Dr. Chung is looking forward to seeing patients with all types of malignancies although her special area of interest is in breast cancer. She has recently located to Cincinnati to join her extended family in the area.
