Lisa Chapman, MSN, CNP, is a Certified Nurse Practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care who cares for patients 18 years and older at the Eastgate location.
When Lisa was 3 years old, her father was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and was given six months to live. He lived and worked another 13 years, which she attributes to the care from his healthcare team. It was this care, and the impact it had on the length and quality of his life that inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare. “I wanted to take care of people and help them just like they did for my father and my family,” she says.
Lisa prefers a wholistic approach to proving care for her patients. “I enjoy sitting and talking with them to get to know them as a whole person,” she says. She also advocates for continuity of care to help ensure that their care is patient-centered and to promote collaboration toward a shared goal of better health. She encourages open and honest communication between patients and providers and wants her patients to remember that they have a say in their health care.
She holds an Associates Degree in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus as a Family Nurse Practitioner – all from Northern Kentucky University. She received her board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with friends and family. Especially her husband, two children, and their pets. Both of her children are active in sports which she loves watching. They also all enjoy spending quality time together at their place on Lake Cumberland.
